Pama Intl meet Mad Professor new album out today

In all good record outlets from today... 1st Nov'10:

PAMA INTL MEET MAD PROFESSOR - REWIRED! IN DUB (on Rockers Revolt RRHIT13)
A total reconstruction of Pama Intl's critically acclaimed Outernational album (****Mojo, “ An album of substance” Q, "seamless merging of old & new" Echoes) by the legendary Dub specialist - MAD PROFESSOR.

From the early 1980's Mad Professor has furthered dub music like no other. Producing, remixing, collaborating and releasing 1000's of reggae titles, including; Lee Perry, U Roy, Mikey Dread, Sly & Robbie, Horace Andy, Max Romeo, The Orb, Beats International, Sade, Depeche Mode, Jamiroqui, Rancid, KLF, Beastie Boys and many more. Since 2001 Pama Intl have been brewing a unique blend of 60's soul, 70's reggae with a 21st century commentary. Pama Intl - last shows

Pama Intl will be performing our last shows for the foreseeable future at the end of 2010.

The last 10 years have been an unbelievable time for us. We've released 8 albums and collaborated with some amazing people; Lynval & Horace (The Specials), Lee Thompson (Madness), Billy Bragg, Michie One, Groove Corp, Wrongtom, Ernie McKone (Galliano), Manasseh, Fuzz Townsend (PWEI/Bentley Rhythm Ace), Gary Alesbrook (Kasabian/Noel Gallagher), Neol Davies (The Selecter), Mungos Hi Fi, reggae legends; Dennis Alcapone, Derrick Morgan, Rico Rodriguez, Dave Barker & Ansell Collins, Dawn Penn, AJ Franklin, Winston Francis and of course Mad Professor, plus members from Big Boss Man, Intensified, Steel Pulse and The Lee Perry Band. We've had the honour of supporting; Toots & The Maytals, Prince Buster, Jimmy Cliff, Lee Perry, Madness, The Specials, Mick Jones' Carbon/Silicon, Third World and played Glastonbury, Womad, Vintage, The Big Chill, Beautiful Days, Bestival, Guilfest & many other superb festivals. We became the first band in 30 years to sign to Trojan Records in 2006 and launched our own Rockers Revolt label in 2008. It has all been a pretty fantastic decade, with each year out doing the last.

After 10 years of working solidly on Pama Intl, time has come for an extended break. It certainly won't be the last you hear of Pama Intl. For the immediate future we're out promoting the Pama Intl meet Mad Professor-Rewired! In Dub album and tour In Oct'10, plus we've almost got the Pama Intl meet Wrongtom album finished (which will come out in the new year). As a proper chance to say thank you for all your support, we'll be doing a number of shows in Nov and Dec'10, which will see some very special guests appearing in the Pama Intl line up. Dates to be announced very soon, but these and the dates with Mad Professor will be the last Pama Intl perform live, so if you'd like to see the band anytime soon please come along in Oct/Nov/Dec'10. It'd be wonderful to see you!

Not all is gloom as 2011 is set to be busier then ever with our involvement in the relaunch of The London Intl Ska Festival, reformation of The Loafers (featuring Finny & Sean from Pama intl - albeit just for one show), the label stepping up it's release schedule to an album a month and Sean Flowerdew working on 2 new very exciting writing projects.

We'd like to thank everyone that has been part of Pama Intl, or supported us over the last 10 years and hope to see you very soon.

If you are a promoter and would like to book one of Pama Intl last shows in Nov/Dec email sean@pamainternational.co.uk

Please vote Today for Pama Intl on BBC6

Good afternoon

Hope this finds you well?

I am delighted to say Pama Intl's song 'Equality And Justice For All' has been added this week to Steve Lamacqs BBC6 music Rebel Playlist... this is absolutely HUGE for Pama Intl. It is potentially the biggest airplay Pama Intl has ever received.

What is the Rebel Playlist I hear you ask?
Well, basically each week Steve Lamacq chooses 3 new songs out of 100s and asks people to vote for their favourite. The one with the most votes gets played on every 6music mainstream show the following week!

This would be unbelievable for us to win. Please could you take the time to vote for us? Votes are open from now until midnight tonight (Sunday 27th September).

You can listen to and vote for Pama Intl-Equality & Justice For All to win the Rebel Playlist at this link
http://www.bbc.co.uk/6music/shows/steve_lamacq/rebel_playlist.shtml

Equality & Justice For All
features Lynval Golding (from The Specials), Lenny Bignell (Lord Large), Fuzz Townshend (Bentley Rhythm Ace/PWEI), Gary Alesbrook (Kasabian) plus Finny and I. And is produced by myself & John Collins (producer of The Specials iconic Ghost Town)

It's coming out on the next Pama intl single - I Still Love You More (26 Oct09) and album Pama Outernational (2 Nov09)

Please forward this onto anyone you think would be up for voting. Winning this would be immense. Please vote now!

Many thanks
Sean

Pama @ Larmer Tree

Have to say Larmer Tree festival, which we played last Friday, is one of the best UK festivals I've been to. Brilliantly organised and layed out in the wonderful Larmer Tree Gardens. If you get the chance to get tickets for this next year grab them.

Here's some footage for our performance.

New Pama Intl album

The new album Pama Outernational was mastered last Tuesday @ John Dents Loud Mastering (the man behind the mastering of Island Rcds classic such as Bob Marley, Lee Perry and one of our all time favourite cuts Junoir Murvin's Police & Thieves.) The 12 track album, billed as "the heavyweight dub sounds of now" runs like this...

1.Equality & Justice For All, 2.Dub A Disco, 3.Are We Saved Yet?, 4.I Still Love You More, 5.Still I Wait, 6.He's More Like His Father, 7.Happenstance, 8.Dub A Dance, 9.Question The Answer, 10.Trade It All For More, 11.What You Do Now and 12.Look Out Your Window.

As the billing would suggest the mainstay of the albums direction is heavyweight dub sounds, but with Stax, Johnny Cash, Ken Parker, The Blockheads, Joe Gibbs & Peter Tosh also inspiring, you can expect a fairly mixed bag. Lynval Golding sings backing vocals throughout and takes lead on Question The Answer, whilst fellow member from The Specials, Sir Horace Panter takes bass duties on Dub A Disco and also Question The Answer.

Pama Intl will be touring it Oct-Dec'09 to promote the album's release. Towns and cities already scheduled include; Manchester, Bristol, Newcastle, Aberdeen, Cardiff, Poole, Derby, Sheffield, Ulverston, Birmingham, Swindon, Nottingham and London. Full tour dates tba shortly. If you'd like to book the band for a show in this period just drop us a line to enquiries@rockersrevolt.com or contact our agent David Farrow @ DMF.
