Pama Intl will be performing our last shows for the foreseeable future at the end of 2010.
The last 10 years have been an unbelievable time for us. We've released 8 albums and collaborated with some amazing people; Lynval & Horace (The Specials), Lee Thompson (Madness), Billy Bragg, Michie One, Groove Corp, Wrongtom, Ernie McKone (Galliano), Manasseh, Fuzz Townsend (PWEI/Bentley Rhythm Ace), Gary Alesbrook (Kasabian/Noel Gallagher), Neol Davies (The Selecter), Mungos Hi Fi, reggae legends; Dennis Alcapone, Derrick Morgan, Rico Rodriguez, Dave Barker & Ansell Collins, Dawn Penn, AJ Franklin, Winston Francis and of course Mad Professor, plus members from Big Boss Man, Intensified, Steel Pulse and The Lee Perry Band. We've had the honour of supporting; Toots & The Maytals, Prince Buster, Jimmy Cliff, Lee Perry, Madness, The Specials, Mick Jones' Carbon/Silicon, Third World and played Glastonbury, Womad, Vintage, The Big Chill, Beautiful Days, Bestival, Guilfest & many other superb festivals. We became the first band in 30 years to sign to Trojan Records in 2006 and launched our own Rockers Revolt label in 2008. It has all been a pretty fantastic decade, with each year out doing the last.
After 10 years of working solidly on Pama Intl, time has come for an extended break. It certainly won't be the last you hear of Pama Intl. For the immediate future we're out promoting the Pama Intl meet Mad Professor-Rewired! In Dub album and tour In Oct'10, plus we've almost got the Pama Intl meet Wrongtom album finished (which will come out in the new year). As a proper chance to say thank you for all your support, we'll be doing a number of shows in Nov and Dec'10, which will see some very special guests appearing in the Pama Intl line up. Dates to be announced very soon, but these and the dates with Mad Professor will be the last Pama Intl perform live, so if you'd like to see the band anytime soon please come along in Oct/Nov/Dec'10. It'd be wonderful to see you!
Not all is gloom as 2011 is set to be busier then ever with our involvement in the relaunch of The London Intl Ska Festival, reformation of The Loafers (featuring Finny & Sean from Pama intl - albeit just for one show), the label stepping up it's release schedule to an album a month and Sean Flowerdew working on 2 new very exciting writing projects.
We'd like to thank everyone that has been part of Pama Intl, or supported us over the last 10 years and hope to see you very soon.
If you are a promoter and would like to book one of Pama Intl last shows in Nov/Dec email sean@pamainternational.co.uk

Hot on the heals of signing Babyhead, we are delighted to announce another signing to our Rockers Revolt label.... The Sidewalk Doctors.
...Formed by Londoners Lenny Bignell (Pama Intl and Lord Large guitarist) and singer Nathan Thomas, The Sidewalk Doctors have been busy recording their sweet, soulful and heavy rocksteady sounds over the last few months.
Early results are fantastic. So much so that Rockers Revolt will be issuing a number of singles, starting with their debut 'Heard It All Before' single (July-ish release).
You can expect their debut album to hit in December and live shows coinciding with that. We're all very excited about this one. Check out their myspace here

Pama Intl's Rockers Revolt label signs BABYHEAD
Rockers Revolt are proud to announce the labels latest signing...
the Bristol machine known as BABYHEAD and the release of the first in a trilogy of singles 'Jungle Lore'.
Born out of love for Jamacian sound clash, forged through a do it yourself punkrock ethic and delivered with a raw hip hop swagger, the unstoppable Babyhead sound is drawn from all quarters of the musical universe, in true Bristol fashion. They have been a live phenomenon in the clubs and on the festival circuit, for a decade plus, rocking stages from Glastonbury to Fabric and attracting onstage collaborations from Ozomatli, Rodney P, Alice Russell, scores of children, transvestites and a three legged one eyed dog!
Keith Allen called them "bastard child of Ian Dury and Iggy pop" while the legendary Toots Hibbert himself proclaimed the band "Irie, despite their beards and suits".
To celebrate the release of Jungle Lore, Babyhead will be throwing not one but two release parties...
Friday 28 May 2010 @ Paradise, 19 Kilburn Lane, Notting Hill, London
and
Sunday 30 May 2010 @ The Island, Silver Street, Bristol, BS1 2YP
Jungle Lore is the first single to be taken from Babyhead's third and darkest album, 'Heavy Weather', which was recorded in Portishead’s “State Of Art” studio. Due for release in Sept'10 'Heavy Weather' is a soundscape rooted in Dub, heavy skank, thunderdrums, blazing horns and sharp lyricism. It features 13 simple songs from the rural/urban landscape in the first days of a brave new century. It is a personal tale of love, life, politics, sex, death and the greatest British preoccupation - The weather.
Babyhead - Jungle Lore b/w Jungle Law (Lupo dub) (RRHIT705) out on 1st June 2010
will be issued on ltd.edtion 7" vinyl (only 300 hand numbered copies) and digital download
You can preorder the 7" now at http://www.rockersrevolt.com/products-page/genre/babyhead---jungle-lore-7/
